Cyclone Gulab hits Shanti Nivas

Sadly, natural disasters are common in India, especially during the monsoon season that lasts from June to September. Cyclones and flooding can be catastrophic, and many people lose their homes, even their lives, every year.

In September 2021, Brighter Future was hit by Cyclone Gulab. It brought very strong winds and several days of rain.

Thankfully no one was injured and there was no severe damage to any of the buildings, but the fruit trees took a battering. Many were uprooted across the Shanti Nivas campus.

The children all came together to help with the clean-up of their campus home.
