Women exchanging vegatables

Who are we?

Brighter Future International is a Christian organisation committed to rebuilding lives ravaged by leprosy, HIV, neglected tropical diseases, disability and poverty.

We work in partnership with individuals, families and communities to restore health, dignity, independence and hope. Following Jesus’ example, we want to bring life in all its fullness to the people we serve.

We are inclusive, helping and respecting people of all faiths and none. We strive to achieve equality for all, focussing on the extremely vulnerable.

The work you help to fund includes:

  • Care for children in need
  • Support for the elderly and disabled
  • Healthcare and health education
  • Hospital referral and transport
  • Help with mobility
  • Water and sanitation
  • Education and training
  • Job creation
  • Advocacy – lobbying local governments for fair and equal treatment, such as access to electricity and disability pensions.

We aim to make the projects you support as sustainable as possible. Our goal is always empowerment, not dependency.

Our values

Brighter Future has four core values which underpin everything we do:

Christian

Our Christian identity is the foundation of Brighter Future. We are motivated by our faith to follow Jesus’ example of healing the sick, caring for the destitute, looking after widows and orphans, and speaking up for those who have no voice.

Respect

We respect and help people regardless of gender, caste, religion or race, promoting universal shared values of love, justice and peace. We actively encourage a mutual understanding of one another’s beliefs.

Partnerships

Brighter Future believes in equality and that people affected by poverty and disease should be enabled to take the lead in their own transformation. We work with active participants, not passive recipients. Our projects are a direct response to needs raised and identified by local communities. This means that everything we do is appropriate, timely and effective.

Accountability and transparency

We take the stewardship of our resources very seriously. We are continually seeking ways to be as cost-effective as possible. We also measure the impact of our work, sharing learning and striving to improve our performance at all levels.

Brighter Future is committed to openness and transparency in all we do.

History

Brighter Future India is run by Victor and Mary Parisipogula along with their small team of dedicated staff, based in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh.

Victor was born into a poor and humble family. Because his parents could not afford to educate Victor and wanted a brighter future for their son, they allowed him to stay in a home run by The Salvation Army.

A Christian couple from America sponsored Victor to pay for his education and care. He had no idea who they were and didn’t even know their name. If they only knew the seed they were sowing into God’s kingdom by sponsoring this little boy!
