Providing life-saving food packages
We know lots of people in the colonies who are sadly disabled by leprosy. Most of them are over 60 years old. Some are so disabled that they can’t walk. Some are completely blind. They are unable to work and rarely make enough money from begging to feed themselves.
This problem is far worse during the summer months when it is extremely hot. Begging outside for hours in the heat becomes dangerous when dehydration and exhaustion set in. Many people are unable to beg at all and they face starvation.
We can’t ignore this urgent need so Brighter Future provides monthly nutritious food parcels for the most vulnerable people. This supplements their basic diets and strengthens their immune systems. For many it is life-saving.
Our team also distributed nearly 10,000 emergency food packages during the coronavirus pandemic when lockdowns stopped people from working.
